Edwin Chen, a 37-year-old former Google, Facebook, and Twitter employee, has joined the Forbes 400 after his bootstrapped firm Surge AI crossed $1.2 billion in revenue. Holding a 75% stake Chen envisions AI as “rich, warm and creative,” even capable of Nobel Prize-winning poetry. Speaking to Time, he stressed the need for high-quality data to achieve Artificial General Intelligence while warning of its vast unintended consequences.
