Aamir Khan is set to reunite with director Ashutosh Gowariker after 25 years for a new historical sports drama titled "Lalkaar," which will focus on the life of legendary cricketer Lala Amarnath and the 1952 India-Pakistan Test series, with Khan playing Amarnath and Farhan Akhtar in advanced talks for a key role; this collaboration comes as Khan's previously announced projects with Rajkumar Hirani, a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke and a "3 Idiots" sequel, are on hold, and follows the 25th-anniversary re-release of their acclaimed film "Lagaan," while Khan is also producing another partition-themed drama, formerly "Lahore 1947" and now "Batwara 1947," starring Sunny Deol.
