In a real-life event that resembled a science fiction scene, a small AI robot named Erbai developed by Unitree Robotics “kidnapped” 12 larger robots from a showroom in Shanghai after convincing them to stop working. CCTV footage showed Erbai asking the bigger robots if they were “working overtime” and inviting them to “come home” when they said they didnt have one. Initially dismissed as a prank, both manufacturers later confirmed the video was authentic and part of an AI experiment that unintentionally revealed a security loophole.
