A proposed ₹ central park, sports arena and convention centre at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse has triggered sharp divisions among planners. While PEATA backed the BMC plan citing need for urban facilities, the Mumbai Architects Collective warned of environmental risks, cost overruns and limited access. Officials said a ₹500 crore subway tender is issued, with further feasibility studies underway.
