The Centre has proposed amendments to the Drugs Rules, 1945 to simplify imports of small quantities of drugs for testing and analysis. The new acknowledgement-based system replaces licensing for eligible imports, reducing compliance burdens while promoting research, innovation and ease of doing business in the pharmaceutical sector.
