Commemorative event titled 'Remembering Sam Bahadur' held

The Panchkula Arts & Literature Circle, in collaboration with Novel Bunch, hosted a special commemorative event titled 'Remembering Sam Bahadur' at Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh. The programme honoured the extraordinary life and legacy of Field Marshal SHFJ 'Sam' Manekshaw (MC), one of India's greatest military heroes. Gen VP Malik (PVSM, AVSM), Former Army Chief, Lt Gen Depinder Singh (PVSM, VSM), shared remarkable insights into the Field Marshal's leadership, valour and monumental contribution to the nation. They highlighted his pivotal role in shaping India's military history, especially during the 1971 Indo-Pak War and reflected on his unwavering integrity and courage. Engaging in an interactive conversation they responded to thoughtful questions posed by Vivek Atray and Col DS Cheema, students and several serving and retired Army personnel present in the audience. Their responses provided rare glimpses into Sam Manekshaw's personality, strategic brilliance and leadership style, inspiring everyone in attendance. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and was a meaningful tribute to the Field Marshal's enduring legacy. Principal Urvashi Kakkar expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries Gen Malik, Lt Gen Deepinder Singh, Col Cheema, Atray and attendees for making the event memorable and impactful. Their contributions made this session truly meaningful for the students and faculty, alike.
