Dr Armida Fernandez Of Mumbai Honoured With Padma Shri For Pioneering Public Health And Neonatology Work

Dr Armida Fernandez, former dean at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai, has been awarded the Padma Shri for her pioneering work in neonatology. She established Asia’s first human milk bank, promoted breastfeeding, led public health projects, and founded SNEHA India. Maharashtra’s other awardees include Raghuveer Khedkar, Shrirang Lad, and Bhaklya Ladakya Dhinda.
