US-based cardiologist Dr. Sanjay Bhojraj says stubborn weight gain despite healthy eating and workouts may stem from metabolic inflammation, not calorie intake. In an Instagram post, he explained that stress, poor sleep, and processed “health” foods trigger hormonal imbalances that keep the body in fat-storing mode. He advises reducing inflammation, improving sleep, and supporting heart health to restore metabolism and achieve sustainable weight loss.
