GAIL is vehemently resisting a bunch of proposals by a PNGRB expert committee, which, among other things, wants an independent operator for gas pipelines, not a company that also trades in gas. The outcome of the showdown will decide whether Indias biggest gas transporter will keep control, or fair competition will end up making clean energy cheaper for millions.
