HAL seals mega deal with GE for 113 Tejas Fighter jet engines

The complex agreement that promises over 80% transfer of technology is valued at over $1.5 billion. In August 2021, HAL inked a deal for 99 of the F 404-IN20 engines for the first batch of LCA Mk1as. Deliveries under the $716 million engine deal have commenced, though have suffered a significant delay in timelines due to supply chain issues faced by GE.
