Hope at last: Scientists develop first vaccine in 100 years for world’s deadliest disease

Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are developing a next-generation vaccine to combat tuberculosis (TB), one of the world's deadliest infectious infectious diseases. Utilizing advanced protein mapping, the team found out 24 peptides from Mycobacterium tuberculosis that activate immune T cell responses. The latest approach could overcome the limited adult protection provided by the century-old BCG vaccine.
