IndiGo appoints ex-British Airways chief William Walsh as CEO after Pieter Elbers’ exit

IndiGo has appointed William Walsh, currently IATA's Director General, as its new CEO, succeeding Pieter Elbers. Walsh, formerly CEO of British Airways and IAG, will join the Indian low-cost carrier by August 3, 2026, following his departure from IATA. This appointment comes after a period of significant flight disruptions for IndiGo.
