Kanjurmarg police registered a case against Lalit Hathi for allegedly cheating Anushka Utekar by selling her pledged gold worth Rs25 lakh without consent. Utekar had borrowed Rs20 lakh from Hathi in January 2024 at 1.25% monthly interest for urgent business needs. Hathi, reportedly unlicensed, allegedly disposed of the gold when repayments faltered, prompting a criminal investigation.
