Myanmar Parliament Appoints USDP Leader as Speaker

Khin Yi, the chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, has been appointed as the speaker of Myanmar's lower house of parliament. The retired brigadier general and former police chief was the sole candidate for the position and was endorsed in a livestreamed session.
