Fitness coach Sean Fanning has cautioned people against blindly trusting popular “high-protein” foods that may be sabotaging their fitness progress. In an Instagram post, he listed six commonly consumed items—full-fat Greek yogurt, peanut butter, eggs, protein bars, nuts, and pre-made protein shakes—that often deliver more calories, sugar, or fat than real nutritional value. Fanning advised smarter swaps and better portion control, stressing that balance and moderation matter more than simply eating more protein.
