Not just diet, even relations can make you fat: BMI directly linked to strong social bonds in new research

A new UCLA Health study published in Gut Microbes shows that emotional support within marriage may directly affect BMI by influencing brain activity, gut chemistry and oxytocin levels. Married participants who felt strongly supported displayed lower BMI, better control over food cravings and healthier gut metabolite patterns compared to those with low support.
