For the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in detail about Maoist terrorism, describing it as one of India’s gravest internal security challenges. Addressing the NDTV World Summit 2025, he said that Maoist violence had once engulfed over 125 districts, but sustained efforts since 2014 have reduced it to just 11.
