India, France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are doing a major tri-nation air exercise over the Arabian Sea, close to Pakistan’s Karachi coast. The drills come at a moment when India-Pakistan ties are deeply strained. Barely six months have passed since the Operation Sindoor, India’s military offensive against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. India has since maintained a heightened state of alert, and this exercise is part of that readiness.
