Rajasthan cough syrup horror: Two children dead, doctor drinks it to prove safety and faints

A generic cough syrup supplied by the Rajasthan government has been linked to two child deaths. Several other children also fell ill after consuming the medicine. Authorities banned 22 batches of the syrup and ordered an immediate recall. A doctor reportedly fell unconscious after testing the medication. The health department launched an inquiry into the contamination.
