Actor Suriya shared that he only began understanding the importance of diet after turning 25, emphasizing that “the body is made in the kitchen, not the gym.” Supporting this view, Dr Sundar Krishnan explained that as people enter their mid-twenties, slower lifestyles, work stress, and reduced activity often make the effects of poor eating habits more noticeable. He stressed that portion control is just as important as food quality, as overeating—even healthy foods—can contribute to weight gain, poor digestion, diabetes, fatty liver disease, and other lifestyle-related conditions. A balanced plate with vegetables, protein, and complex carbohydrates, along with mindful eating, is a more sustainable approach to long-term health than restrictive diets.
