Tesla Cybertruck joins Mexico police fleet ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup

The Jalisco State Police added three Tesla Cybertrucks to its patrol fleet in May, aiming to utilize these vehicles as mobile intelligence units equipped with advanced technology to bolster security efforts across the state ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Back in May, Jalisco's Governor Pablo Lemus defended the government investment of 988 million pesos ($60 million) to acquire over 690 vehicles for the state's security department, including three Tesla Cybertrucks. According to a Jalisco government statement, the Cybertrucks are leased for 36 months following a public bidding process.
