US-Iran Peace Deal Live: Iran's Araghchi calls for regional security framework

US-Iran Peace Deal Live Updates: The fragile peace deal between Iran and the US has come under strain after both sides exchanged new military strikes. Iran launched missiles and drones at US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain following American strikes on Iranian targets that Washington said were carried out in response to attacks on commercial shipping in Strait of Hormuz. A US official said there were no American casualties, while Kuwait intercepted missiles and Bahrain reported limited damage. Qatar also confirmed that one of its citizens was killed by shrapnel during military operations at sea after a vessel went missing, though authorities did not assign responsibility. The Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemned Iran's attacks, calling them a threat to regional security and stability. Meanwhile, Israel carried out fresh strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon and continued operations in Gaza, where Palestinian health authorities reported more casualties. Iran accused Israel of violating the US-Iran memorandum of understanding by continuing military operations in Lebanon and said Washington was responsible for ensuring the ceasefire was implemented. Tehran also warned against any attempt to challenge its control over the strait, insisting such moves would increase tensions and delay the full reopening of one of the world's busiest energy shipping routes. Even as tensions persisted, Iran announced that flights between Tehran and Dubai would resume from Monday. The renewed violence has cast fresh doubt over the future of the US-Iran agreement, which was intended to halt fighting, reopen the strait, ease sanctions and create space for negotiations over Iran's nuclear programme.
