West Bengal On High Alert As 2 Nurses Test Positive For Nipah Virus In Private Hospitals

The West Bengal government issued an alert across healthcare facilities after two nurses from private hospitals tested positive for the Nipah virus and were put on ventilators. Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam said the state is fully prepared and hospitals have been directed to follow strict protocols for testing, treatment and isolation as both patients remain critical.
