Maltodextrin is a common additive found in processed foods and is worse than sugar. It has a high glycemic index which can cause blood sugar spikes and lead to health problems like diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Experts recommend reducing consumption of processed foods to avoid maltodextrin and other unhealthy additives.
